I cannot count the number of cases I seen over the past 15 years where the amount of insurance coverage the party at fault had did not come close to covering the damages involved - the proverbial 'underinsured case'. Add to that the number of cases where the party at fault had no insurance at all and the injured party(ies) carried only the minimum amount of uninsured/underinsured coverage and that was not nearly enough to cover the damages suffered and you would join in my plea to everyone to please get all the uninsured motorist coverage you can get ~ it is relatively cheap and with the influx of new residents and heavier traffic on the road ~ it is a good investment in your wellbeing.
